Six Months At A Stretch

[Blind Gossip] This famous, foreign-born TV actor has been married a long time. It doesn’t mean his marriage is going well, though!

During the time he was starring in [that TV series], they didn’t see each other for sometimes six months at a stretch! Their relationship was so strained that he didn’t even fly home on the weekends. This went on for years. She didn’t even show up for big events like premieres and the Walk of Fame ceremony.

His TV show was a huge success but he has moved on to other projects.

So, where is their relationship now?

They are living together, but the house is big enough so that they never have to see each other.

    Gotta be Hugh Laurie. I remember him saying that once House became a hit, he wanted to wife and kids to move stateside until the show was over and she refused.

    Hugh laurie aka house, kinda sad but maybe it works for them?

    Have spent 6+ months apart, twice, due to husbands work taking him out of country. Sucked, but in ways made us appreciate each other alot more.

    Definitely. When he was filming Flight of the Phoenix he had an affair (he publicly confessed) so his wife & kids moved stateside to repair things. She eventually got homesick and moved back, so I guess it took its toll. 🙁

    I’m from the UK too – where he’s been a popular actor/personality for 30 years or more. He and his wife have always had this unusual together-apart relationship. Tom Jones and Toyah Wilcox have/had similar arrangements. Wouldn’t work for me – I hate being away from the other half for just a night!

    Foreign born, been married since 1989 + the several times “house” was used in this.
    That sounds sad if true.

    And we are rarely apart. One autumn my husband worked in Baltimore and we spent the week apart and saw each other on weekends. That was hard because our kids were small and he missed us as much as we missed him.

    No idea on the couple, but in 20 years of marriage we’ve never spent one night apart. Kind of sickens people, but it works for us. Lol

    Longest time was 9 days- helps as I take that time to visit family or work on projects at home uninterrupted!

    One week apart. He was on on a business trip. It didn’t have any effect on our marriage. But he prefers not to take the business trips by himself anymore.

    Andrew Lincoln. That is a damn shame. The longest gap for us has been a weekend. We could go longer and still be fine, but we have kids and tend to want to be together and spend time as a family.

    Longest time apart? Two months I was out of state helping a dear friend who was very sick from surgery. She had two small children and no one to help her. It was hard and we missed each other so much but it didn’t hurt our marriage at all.

    Not a clue, but gonna guess Hugh Laurie. Very successful show. I don’t know if she ever moved to LA when he was filming House. Maybe she did and I’m way off.
