She Is Leaving Scientology

[Janet Charlton] Another one of the most famous female members of the Church of Scientology is very quietly planning to extricate herself from the organization.

She won’t discuss it now, and perhaps never will, but she used to be a close friend of Leah Remini.

It’s a brave thing for a celebrity to do, but this actress has been having doubts for awhile and Leah’s anti-Scientology series pushed her even farther. Longtime members have to adjust to losing most of their friends and many business associates (assistants, managers, accountants, nannies etc) so it takes a LOT of preparation.

This will be a huge slap in the face of David Miscavige.

    It’s either Jada Pinkett (who claims she’s not a scientologist), Kirstie Alley or Juliette Lewis.

    It has to be Pinkett. You can’t just go to some church functions and not be a scientologist. You’re either all the way in, or you’re considered an SP.

    Advice: Run!!! It’s a dangerous and controlling group, all based on a man who used to write comic books. The comic books weren’t even that great. If Stan Lee was the head of the church, then I’d join.

True, many have called her crazy (as they have the one pictured whose movies I refuse to support). I’m not licensed to diagnose. I won’t judge her. I wish her well.

    Advice: Find an excellent person who deals with helping to deprogram people coming back to the real world. Also, stick close to those who support your move out of the Co$. And good luck!

    Expect others too. Some Scientology policies are bizarro. I am making no comment as to their claims on their Tech as I have zero info on it, but their PR and always attack policies make them look ridiculous, and disconnection is even crazier. It’s like they have little faith in their own doctrines, so they have to go more insular to try to prevent more people from leaving. I don’t get it. If you are legit, it speaks for itself.

    Kirstie Alley, I have better advice for those contemplating joining it. Run, Run as fast as you can, and never look back. After you join, I think it would take professional help to get out of there alive.

    I’m thinking Elisabeth Moss. Some of the other prominent members-I’m not she was besties of any of them (Kelly Preston, Juliette Lewis, Priscilla Presley). But first she had the creepy marriage to Fred Armisen. Perhaps that shook her up enough to do some self-evaluation. And I think she was born into it, so yes, I can imagine it’s very difficult to get away. Best of luck to her. I hope she is able to break away.

    (I hope) she and Leah used to be good friends, but pretty much had been feuding after Leah left Scientology.

    I would advise the person to get their support system set up, and the just leave. Go talk to Leah, and get your experiences in Scientology recorded. I think that might be some sort of insurance to keep the Scientologists from offing you. They’re a scary bunch. Imo. Allegedly. So it seems.

    She’s in a way better place than some of those other folks who left and lost everything. If they can do it, she can do it. If she wants to keep them off her back, she just needs to keep it quiet and not say anything bad about the “church.”

    I think this is Kirstie Alley. She is one of the most famous and outspoken Scientologists and publically called Leah Remini a “bigot” after she left the Church. I’m happy for anyone who gets out but I wish they would be more outspoken and critical, like Remini. I know the Church always has a lot of dirt on its members but they could end the cult much more quickly if they helped to expose its abuses.

    I have been an ant-sci activist since 2008. My advice to anyone trying to leave scientology is to be smart about it. Think of absolutely everyone & everything that will be affected when you leave and figure out how to protect it all. Then go & don’t look back. Then TALK about your story because there’s safety in disclosure. Katie Holmes & Leah Remini are good examples of how to leave this cult.

    I don’t really have any idea about the blind, but with regards to Scientology- I am not a scientologist, my parents dabbled in it way back when and decided it wasn’t for them. However I was brought up amongst people who signed up to it, and I think there are some positive aspects. I have extended family who are ardent followers and they are lovely, warm people who don’t pressure my immediate family to sign up in any way. As with all ‘religions’ there are varying degrees, it’s not all bad x

    I would tell them to plan carefully and when they saw their chance, to get going and leave it definitely behind them. I would also tell them to make themselves “coercion proof,” as in either announcing any difficulties or living a life such that no-one would believe the Scientologists’ lies.

    I can however tell you who it’s not and never would be, swear on Xenu: Kelly Preston, Kirstie Alley or Jenna Elfman. I think they’re lifers.

      That is very unfortunate news. I wonder if Laura brought him in. He was engaged to Robin Wright for a while and just don’t see Robin in that group.

      Doesn’t say anything about kids. Kirstie and Leah used to be VERY good friends. Kirstie was pretty horrible to Leah when she left.
