Still Smiling and Still Divorcing

We called this one three months ago. The title still holds. Everything will be very, very civil on the outside. Neither is expected to publicly blab about the details. However, behind the scenes, there is a flurry of activity over money and outsiders. Both members of this celebrity couple have considerable fortunes, but one has more than the other, and wants to block the less-wealthy one from claiming a piece of that both now and in the future. The negotiations have been cautious, however, due to both parties showing interest in someone outside the marriage since the decision to split was made several months ago. One has been spending a lot of phone time with an old flame who is now married. The other has been finding comfort in the constant company of a same sex member of their staff. The attorneys will hammer out the money, but it will interesting to see if either uses the other’s outside relationship as private or public leverage.

Fake Couple Considering Their Options

Which couple has several difficult decisions to make now that their fake marriage is over? This gay, opposite-sex married couple were both in the closet for professional reasons, and agreed to the fake marriage to enhance each other’s professional image. However, now that the marriage is over, one of them may be coming out of the closet. That leaves the other, an actor,  to decide whether to come out themselves or pretend that they are shocked – shocked! – that their spouse turned out to be gay. Both are unattractive options, as the former may hurt the actor’s career, and the latter would just be a lie which could result in hefty financial penalites.

Which actor is completely confusing Santa this time of year? She made contributions to several charities during this holiday season. Sounds generous, right? Except that she then sent notes to her staff telling them that in lieu of a holiday bonus, that donations had been made in their names to a charity (no, it wasn’t The Human Fund!). Naughty or nice?

The Cost of Staying in the Closet

Who is going to have to pay through the nose to stay in the closet? Sometimes a gay actor will marry a member of the opposite sex in the hopes that it will boost their hetero credibility and expand the range of roles offered to them. The trouble with this strategy is that if the relationship doesn’t last, the ex has a tremendous amount of leverage over the actor. Such is the case of this network TV star whose fake marriage is over. The star’s attorney is trying to get their client to settle quickly and quietly to prevent the ex from spilling secrets. However, the star is now weighing the hefty cost of paying off the ex versus outing themselves.

Which celebrity fired her stylist after a screaming match? She was furious that all her money had failed to land her a place on even a second-tier Best Dressed List. She called the stylist and let loose a string of obscenities. The stylist then made a comment about how the clothes would have looked better if the client hadn’t gained a few pounds. The client then fired her on the spot.

Which under-30 celebrity with a squeaky-clean reputation is hiding some dark secrets? A former boyfriend is threatening to expose some unsavory details about her past, including a juvenile criminal act, short-term drug use, and some very personal photos that were taken from her laptop computer. The celebrity is completely stressed about the revelations hurting her career, and is huddling with lawyers and public relations specialists to figure out how much money it would take to pay off the offending ex.

Drunk Actor Steals Car

Which good-looking young actor took a car that didn’t belong to him? After dining at a restaurant favored by Hollywood hot shots – and consuming as much alcohol as food –  he pointed out his car to the valet. The valet grabbed the keys without checking to see if the numbered valet parking tickets matched, and handed off the vehicle to the actor. It wasn’t until the actor got a parking ticket on the car an hour later that he realized that it wasn’t even his car. He drove straight back to the restaurant, where a very relieved valet quickly and quietly exchanged keys. The actor didn’t pay the parking ticket, nor did he tip the valet. The first car’s owner is in for quite the surprise when they get the late notice in the mail.

Which politician will likely take their entire family down with them as a scandal unfolds? Once investigators start following the money trail, expect a whole closetful of drugs and alcohol and dirty money skeletons to come tumbling out in a disgraceful and ruinous heap.
