[Blind Gossip] Which famous actress was carrying a fake Chanel bag at the Charles Finch and Chanel Pre-Awards Party?

A Chanel employee who was at the event noticed that the actress wore Chanel clothing that appeared to be authentic… but that she carried a fake bag!

I was positively gobsmacked. It was a fake! Several of us who work for the company could spot it a mile away, but of course it would have been unthinkably rude to say anything to her, so we kept it as our little secret. In any case, it was a galling move on her part considering that there were scads of Chanel experts lurking about!

      sorry – laptop bugged out – fake’ designer items at markets in Beijing including a Louis Vuitton wallet, a Gucci purse and several pairs of shoes. No one can tell they’re fake in the ‘real’ world so far!

    From the photos, it looks like this would be Kristin Stewart. The outfit appears to be Chanel, but what’s up with the bag?? The quilting doesn’t look right with the leather texture…too flat…and doesn’t look like anything Chanel has actually done before. Plus, the straps look cheap.
    No, I don’t believe in buying fake things-it’s cheesy and illegal.

    The stitching was a mess, especially where the silver and black meet. That’s not how the real bag looks.
    I’m sure Chanel would have loaned her whatever she wanted, so there’s no excuse for her stylist to pull an obviously fake bag.

    Had a girlfriend once who was really into Coach. I was in my 20s and working in retail. She was in college. For Valentine’s and birthdays she would want and expect a $400-600 bag. I would suggest knock off that looked exactly the same and cost $50…She would get offended. This is a girl from middle class America still living with mommy and daddy while attending a state school.

    Actress: Hailee Steinfeld. It’s clear her Chanel bag is a fake because it doesn’t have the leather part of the chain handle that all Chanel boy bags have. The original appeared on the Fall 2015 runway and looks drastically different than the one she carried at the event. Perhaps she didn’t know she was carrying a fake; they are not that easy to spot unless you have a trained eye. A stylist might not have known either (fire the stylist, though).

    Are you kidding me? There are people who can’t afford to even pay rent…and far worse, let alone buy a fake Chanel bag What shallow, fake, ignorant observer who is “godsmacked”.

    Whoever this actress is…kudos for not caring or thinking it was a big deal.

    She is wearing her purse prominently in about every photo. It is entirely possible that a stylist pulled the purse for the actress. She may not have known it was fake. Honestly, if she knew it was fake, I doubt she would have been parading it.

    Somewhere in the back of my closet is a fake Dooney & Bourke bag that my children bought me. Fifteen or twenty years ago one of those vans that sell fake bags parked in our town. My dear kids, knowing I love handbags, pooled their money and handed over $15.00 to get mom a handbag for Mother’s Day. They were so proud! It’s the thought that counts…

    I own a “Fucci” as I like to call it, lol. My friend visited family in Shanghai YEARS ago and brought me back a well-made Gucci knockoff that has lasted me over a decade. I wouldn’t spend my own money on designer bags, real or fake, but this was a gift. The handful of (authentic) designer bags I own were gifts.

    [Optional] Yes, my “designer handbags” came from NYC; although, I do have a couple real Coaches that came from consignment shops. Any real designer clothing I have was on clearance at a consignment shop.

    Optional: No. While my closet is not filled with designer brands I do have some stuff. I would rather have less of the real thing then a bunch of fake stuff.

      Coach was raided in Massachusetts a few years ago and heavily fined for hiring illegal immigrant workers. Better a fake Chanel than a Coach bag made by an illegal taking a job away from an American.

    Why a “galling move”??? Maybe the actress was fooled by it. Maybe it was a gift and she just assumed it was real.

    She’s either a fool for being fooled by it or a fool for knowing it’s fake and thinking experts wouldn’t notice. The first seems more likely.

    Ooooooh…I don’t know who this is…but if it has to do with the similar blind it’s really juicy news and sneaky at that.
    It’s possible the guy is sending her cheap knock off’s and she doesnt know that’s why she is parading around in front of Chanel reps with the fake bag. Hence why her clothes are authentic because she bought them.
    Not nice on either part cuz he’s not being honest…but she’s basically blackmailing him. So…This is too funny! ?

    This was rude of the Chanel people.

    They should have quietly told her, pointing out the reasons they noticed it was fake.
    She probably didn’t know — otherwise, why would she take it to a Chanel party.

    AND, since she was so proud to be a Chanel Bag owner, why didn’t they offer to replace it with an authentic one?

    They could have don’t it on the PDQ and nobody but them would have known.

      I agree. Granted I’m not a purse person or label *, but I wouldn’t know a fake Chanel if it was labeled Channel.

      Ditto. I find those ridiculously overpriced status bags pretentious and usually ugly. Unless it is glaringly obvious – like a mispelling, or really ratchet cheap…

      Real designer items are a huge rip off anyway, granted they are better quality than cheap options but it still doesn’t justify the ludicrous prices! There’s a reason why every successful designer lives like a king / Queen. Spending thousands on a tiny wallet is just silly yet people do it. I have a couple of fakes and idc, I’d wear them anywhere. I kinda laud this person for doing this. Good for her!! Shows she has more sense, or clearly didn’t know.
