She Does Not Think She Needs A Cohost

[Blind Gossip] These two stars usually do their TV show together.

When one of them didn’t show up at the last minute, the other was forced to do the show themselves.

It was funny to hear people talk about how “brave” she was to carry the entire show herself.

Why?

Because she would actually LOVE to get rid of him. She would be happy if he never showed up again!

This actually makes sense if you think back to her history with her costars.

After her first male costar left, she felt that the show was hers. Our Girl was the star.

Then they brought in a new male costar.

Then he left and they brought in another new male costar.

Every male costar since [The First Costar] has been a disappointment and a traitor. They take other jobs and don’t put the show first. [Current Costar] is no exception.

So it’s not that she hates Current Costar.  It seems to be more about her feeling that she is perfectly capable of carrying the show without him.

The last time she had to do that for an extended period of time, she really enjoyed having the spotlight all to herself and the show’s ratings did not suffer at all. 

In fact, she was so comfortable flying solo that she actually stalled bringing in another new costar!

Would producers actually consider letting her do the show solo?

Probably not. That’s not the premise of the show.

Maybe not the original premise of the show.

Wonder if we are looking at the beginning of another turnover?

    Ripa. Ryan is overqualified and isn’t a good fit. I’d love to see him take over Ellen’s show , but I think he enjoys the power and money more than the entertainment part. Wouldn’t it be great to see him follow the footsteps of Andy Cohen , Anderson Cooper and Neil Patrick Harris and start a family? I think he’s be a great dad.

    Optnl: She should watch what she wishes for. They may agree that Seacrest can go and then realize that she can too. That’s how business works.

    Kelly Ripa. Right up there with Meghan Markle as the most egotistic celebs. And both are awful. I quit Kelly’s show years ago.

    No, it would change the dynamic of the show – it works well as a partnership. It’s not the kind of show that would work as a solo host.

    optional: She could do it on her own. She’s a powerhouse. But I’ll be honest, I stopped watching when Ryan came on…I really liked Jerry O’Connell and Michael Strahan. But truthfully, I was Regis fan, RIP.

    LIVE is all Kelly Ripa has – so she puts her all into the show.

    The other co-hosts had other gigs going – so they probably didn’t invest as much into the show.

    She always wanted to fly solo or be the star – so maybe they would consider it. I don’t watch the show anymore and could see its popularity waning – especially s other morning shows bring a strong 3rd hour.

    Kelly Ripa. I’ve never understood why people like her. Always preening, trying to look (what she considers) sexy for the camera. There’s gotta be someone better who could host this show, either solo or with a co-host.

    No- she at least needs rotating guest stars because she never goes out or does any research for the gossip part of the show. It annoyed Regis so much because he basically did all the work in the opening segment. He would tee up each subject ans she would just flatly answer .

    Kelly is so fake and obnoxious. Her talking to herself for an hour could be shown on a loop in the prisons to drive them crazy. !

    I only watch it when I am Clockwork Oranged-Marathon Manned into watching it — it’s on at my dentist’s, as if the dentist wasn’t bad enough, I have to put up with Kelly as well.

    I liked Regis because he and Kathy played off each other.

    I rarely have seen this show now, but it seems like Ryan is not necessary. And probably a huge expense.

    I never understood why Ryan Seacrest took this job. He certainly doesn’t need the money. I figured there must be something else in it for him down the road or behind the scenes. Why else would he play second fiddle to the likes of her?
